Your Real is my Surreal
I've been thinking a lot about what ties my art together, as I seem to have several different themes, styles and mediums.
I looked at all my art subjectively and found my underlying theme, Surrealism . I take reference from the Real and draw it as a study to examine how to translate it into a canvas painting. I love looking at the shapes, lighting and shadows to grasp the characteristics and then place it into unusual context , creating a dreamlike theme. This is playing with the realm of the Surreal.
Subconsciously I have been fascinated with surrealism for a very long time and it seems to translate into all of my paintings.
